George L. Wiedemann 1939 - 2013

BURDETT — George L. Wiedemann, 73, died June 21, at the Harry Hynes Hospice, Wichita. He was born Nov. 7, 1939, at Burdett, the son of Fred G. and Laura Wiedemann. On June 4, 1965, he married Dolores Y. Holt at Woodbury, Tenn.  She died July 23, 2010. A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer/rancher.
Mr. Wiedemann was of the Christian faith. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the National Antique tractor and truck chapter, the National Wildlife Federation, served on the Pawnee Heights school board for 14 years and was a former Golden Valley COOP board member.
Survivors include a son, Todd Wiedemann, Maize; and two grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned, with the Rev. Chuck Marshall presiding. Burial will be in the Brown’s Grove Cemetery, Burdett with military graveside rites. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Burdett EMS, both in care of the mortuary.
