George Milton Morrison Jr.

George Milton Morrison, Jr., 72, passed away April 3, 2026, at his home in Great Bend, Kan. He was born Oct. 4, 1953, in Great Bend, to George and Faye (Miller) Morrison, Sr.

George, affectionately known as ‘Junior’, served in the United States Navy from 1973 to 1974. He was an avid basketball fan and loved to play and coach. He could often be found in the stands cheering on the Barton Community College Cougars. Junior was extremely gifted in singing and loved to pick up the mic at karaoke and share his vocals. He loved lyrics and listened to many genres of music.

Survivors include daughters, Ashley Rios Werth and her husband John of Snyder, Texas, Keshia Ankum and her husband Kendrick, Sydney Werth of Mesa, Ariz.; brother, Dennis Morrison, Sr. and wife Josie of Sand Springs, Okla.; sister-in-law, Becky Morrison; seven grandchildren; and numerous extended family and loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Craig Allen and Gary Morrison; and sisters, Joyce Marie, Virginia Lou, and Cora Sue.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 15, 2026, at Backyard Church, 2519 11th St., Great Bend, with Pastor Jody Messersmith presiding.
