GARDEN CITY — Greg Biernacki, 59, died July 12 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. Born May 18, 1954 in Garden City, he was the son of Fred and Edna (Wright) Biernacki. On March 29, 1973 he married Diana Smith in Garden City. In 1973 he graduated from Garden City High School. He worked for Post & Brown Well Service which later became Post & Mastin Well Service for 23 years. In 2000 he and John Huber formed BHS Pumping, LLC which he has owned and operated since.
Greg enjoyed being involved with his grandchildren, going on walks, listening to music and was a past Scout Master.
Survivors include his wife, Diana Biernacki, of the home; a daughter Sherlyn “Sheri” Biernacki of Overland Park; two sons, Jason Biernacki of Lakin and Justin Biernacki of Garden City; his father Fred Biernacki of Chadron, Neb.; four brothers, Phillip Biernacki of Chadron, Neb., Francis Biernacki of Bamberg, S. C., Michael Biernacki of Garden City, and Nicholas Biernacki of Holcomb; three sisters, Rosemary Blanco of Chadron, Neb., Mary Shipley of Seaside, Ore., and Jackie Dunne of Battle Ground, Wash.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother; and one sister, Veronica Biernacki.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Memorials are suggested to Greg Biernacki Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be e-mailed to garnandfh@sbcglobal.net.
