Harold Edward Boepple 1940 - 2011

ELLINWOOD — Harold Edward Boepple, 70, died Sept. 19 at St. Francis Via Christi Hospital in Wichita.

He was born Oct. 29, 1940, at Great Bend, the son of Ed and Dorothy Roelse Boepple. He graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1959. A lifetime Ellinwood resident, he was an oilfield worker at Weatherford Services, retiring in 1998. He was also co-owner of G&H Insurance in Great Bend.

Mr. Boepple married Carol Standlee. She died in 1963. He then married Gwyn Moreland on June 19, 1966, at Hoxie.

Survivors include wife Gwyn of the home; sons Eddie, Ellinwood, and Clay, Great Bend; daughter Lisa and Bruce Taylor, Great Bend; stepdaughter Cindy and Don Oswald, Alva, Okla.; and brothers, Jerold, Monahans, Texas, Fred, Weatherford, Okla.; and Dennis, Salina; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jannette Kistler.

A celebration service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at Calvary Baptist Church in Ellinwood. The officiants will be the Rev. Dr. Melvin York and the Rev. Katrina Palan. Calling time will be from 1-8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral home. Family will receive friends from 6:30-8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Memorials can be made to Turningpoint Ministries or donor’s choice.
