Heather Amanda (Mandy) Battaglear (Orth), 46, gained her wings on Dec. 27, 2021 due to natural causes. She was born Oct. 1,1975, to Harold, Sr. and Katherine Orth, in Great Bend, Kan. 

Mandy graduated from Great Bend High School in 1995. She was a talented artist and was offered a scholarship to Fort Hays State University for her work. On Oct. 23, 1998, Mandy married Jason Lee (Jay) Battaglear, Sr. in Garden City, Kan. Mandy had a love for all animals starting at a very young age. She also loved music and karaoke. Mandy was excitedly awaiting the birth of her first grandson, Weston Jay Lee Battaglear, due April 2022.

Mandy is survived by her son Jason Lee Battaglear Jr. (Great Bend); son Danyan Mickel Battaglear and fiancée Samantha Duran (St. John, Kan.); daughter, Jazmin Dawn Battaglear (Great Bend); her parents, Harold and Katherine Orth, Sr.; sister, Cristine Yancey and fiancée James Hanks; sister Angela Orth of Great Bend; brother, Harold Orth Jr. and wife Anna of Independence, Mo.; and 11 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Jason; her maternal and paternal grandparents; and her uncle, James Orth.
