Henry Eugene Nordman 1928 - 2014


ALBERT — Henry Eugene Nordman, 85, passed away peacefully on Jan. 8, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at Great Bend Regional Hospital.
Born May 17, 1928 in Great Bend, he was the son of Frank and Margaret (Hampel) Nordman. On Feb. 22, 1955 he married Anna Louise Oberle in Bushton. A lifetime resident of Barton County, residing in the Olmitz and Albert areas, he worked for Nash-Finch, Marlette Homes and Schwartz Farms. He loved farming.
Mr. Nordman was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #646.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Louise Nordman, of the home; a son, Gary Nordman and his wife Pensri, Wichita; three daughters, Marlene Coker and Evelyn Brown, both of Wichita, and Janet Liston, Great Bend; a daughter-in-law, Lucinda Nordman, Redfield, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Jacobson, Yuma, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Alan E. Nordman; two sons-in-law, Kevin Liston and Roy Brown; and a brother, Robert Nordman.
Vigil service and Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Ted Stoecklein and Father Ultan Murphy concelebrating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Great Bend. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Prince of Peace Parish, the American Heart Association or donor’s choice, in care of the funeral home.
