LARNED — James Robert (Bob) Brown, 92, passed away Aug. 28, 2017, at Diversicare of Larned. He was born June 17, 192,5 in Plevna, the son of Leo and Burtha Saxton Brown. A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer. On July 9, 1968, he married Matilda (Tillie) Zorn. She passed away July 2, 2007. On June 6, 2011 he married Betty Millhouse-Twitchell. She survives.
He attended the First Christian Church and was a member of the American Legion, both of Larned. He also served in the United States Army.
Other survivors include, son, Fred Brown of Wichita; daughter, Teresa Schertz of Universal City, Texas; sister, Maxine Ackerman of Larned; grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Beckwith Mortuary in Larned, with the Rev. Joshua Leu presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Wednesday at Beckwith Mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, with military graveside rites. Memorials may be given to American Legion Post #106 of Larned, in care of the funeral home.
