HOISINGTON — Janice (Jany) A. Aylward, 62, died Nov. 26 in rural Hoisington. Born Feb. 23, 1950 in Hoisington, she was the daughter of Harlan (Mac) and Velma (Beck) McMillin. She was a 1968 graduate of Hoisington High School. On June 6, 1969 she married Michael Aylward in Hoisington. A lifetime resident of Hoisington, she was a rural postal carrier. She loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, family and friends and was always willing to help anyone. She took great pride in serving the patrons on her rural mail route and considered them all family.
Mrs. Aylward was  a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 7428.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Aylward of the home; two sons, Michael Aylward and wife Jeri, of Hoisington, and Monte Aylward and companion Heather Arndt, of Emporia; mother, Velma McMillin, Hoisington; two sisters, Alyce Chambers and husband Mike of Hoisington, and Arlene Lewis of Viola; and three grandchildren, Gracie, MJ, and Reece Aylward. She was preceded in death by her father, Harlan (Mac) McMillin; brother, Edward McMillin; and a grandson, Connor Michael Aylward.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in Hoisington with the Rev. Kris Brinlee officiating. Inurnment will be at the St. John Church Cemetery in Hoisington. Friends may visit, with family present, from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Kans for Kids or Claflin Ambulance Fund in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net.
