Jerry L. Branham 1939 - 2013


RAWLINS, Wyo. — Jerry L. Branham, 73, passed away June 24, 2013.
Born Oct. 2, 1939, in Nowata, Okla., he was the son of Ada F. (Adamson) and Charles M. Branham.
At the age of 4, he moved to Susank and attended school in Hoisington, where he played football and graduated in 1958. He was married to Linda Benningfield and moved to Great Bend. While working for B.J. Hughes, until 1986, he lived in Long Beach, Calif., Anchorage, Alaska, Bakersfield, Calif., and Rawlins, Wyo. In 1989, he purchased the old Harris Jewelry Store in Rawlins, and operated the store until his retirement in 2010. His hobbies included riding his four-wheeler, hunting and shooting gophers, woodworking, traveling and sightseeing, and wordsearch puzzles.
He was a life member of the Elks, a member of the Kiwanis Club, and partook of DDA in Rawlins for two years. He was also a faithful member of Harvestime Ministries Church in Rawlins.
He is remembered for his kind and generous nature. He never knew a stranger and always had a smile and sincere hello.
Survivors include his lifelong companion, Hazel M. Sanchez, Rawlins, Wyo.; children, Steven (Baudelia) Branham, Rawlins, Wyo.; Kent (Rosa) Branham, Rock Springs; Valerie (Alan) Atkins, Littleton, Colo.; and Trini Martinez, Jr., Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Marlene (Richard) Amerine, Hoisington; grandchildren, Sasha (Andy) Katchvaros, Conroe, Texas; Stephanie (Josh) Kramer, Patricia Ann (Brian) Holcomb, Monica Gonzalez, Hailey McIntosh, all of Rawlins, Wyo., Kayla Jean White, Cadillac, Mich.; Guadalupe (Juani) Gonzalez, Lerona Gonzalez and Johnathan Gonzalez, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; a great-granddaughter, Karlee Kramer, Rawlins; and numerous nieces and nephews from Kansas, Alabama and New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donnie Branham; and by his wife, Linda (Benningfield) Branham.
Funeral Services will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday at Harvestime Ministries Church in Rawlins. Interment with graveside services will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday at the Hoisington Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Carbon County Funeral Home.
