THE COLONY, Texas — John A. Gordon, 65, passed away Nov. 10, 2012.
Born September 17, 1947 in Great Bend, he was the son of David R. and Rose Gordon.
He graduated from Kansas State University and successfully ran his own business, Gordon and Gordon Insurance, for 30 years. His joyful and jolly spirit touched many lives.
Mr. Gordon was a civic leader of The Colony. He served as a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Rotary, the Colony Business Association, the Chamber of Commerce, and the The Colony City Council.
Survivors include his wife, Judy (Kirk); daughters, Vanessa (Bailey) and Christy (Troost); a granddaughter, Kaylee (Troost); a brother, Bob; and a sister, Sheila (Miller).
He was preceded in death by his father, David R. Gordon; and his mother, Rose Gordon.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Nov. 12 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. A Graveside memorial was held Nov. 15 in Scott City.
