LARNED - John Daniel “Danny” Dipman, 72, died at his home in rural Larned on May 2, 2015. Born on April 18, 1943, in Larned, he was the son of John W. and Eldred E. (Sanders) Dipman.
He was a farmer and a stockman, residing on the farm that had been in his family for over 100 years. He had also previously worked as a school bus driver and a rural mail carrier. He married Vicki Berglund on July 29, 1962; she survives.
Danny considered himself a steward of the land through his farming. He was a past board member of the Golden Valley Coop and Pawnee County Farm Bureau; Treasurer for Morton Township and served on the Pawnee County Zoning Board. He enjoyed spending time with his family and travelling in his RV, wintering in Florida every year for over 20 years, and making many lifetime friends along the way.
Survivors include his wife, Vicki; his two daughters, Sandi Bates and husband Jeffrey Bates, Candi Parker and husband Randy Parker all of Larned. Granddaughters Keeli Parker and fiancé Josh Howard, Larned and Kelbi Parker and fiancé Ian Harvey, Hays; his mother, of Hutchinson; two sisters, Dedria Ashworth, Arlington and Cynthia Wallace, Rawlins, Wyo.; a brother, David Dipman, Casper, Wyo.
Funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Bethann Black and Dr. David Hales presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned.
