SEWARD — Johnnie Lee Powell, age 67, passed away on Oct. 13, 2021 at the Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kan. He was born on Dec. 9, 1953 at Great Bend, Kan., the son of LeRoy and Lorine (Busick) Powell. He was a self-employed auto mechanic and resident of Seward since 2000.
Survivors include his mother, Lorine; a sister, Donna Clark, Hudson, Kan.; three sons, James Powell (Jennifer Shute), Great Bend, Kan., Jeremiah Pack, Lenexa, Kan., Jonathon Curtis Powell, Wichita, Kan.; a step-daughter, Belinda Schaffer, Anderson Mo.; 12 grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021 at Eden Valley Cemetery, NW 20th Ave. and NW 180th, Street, North of Seward, KS. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m., that same morning, at the American Legion, 1011 Kansas Ave., Great Bend, Kan., with Pastor Dick Ogle presiding.
