Joseph Dale Brackbill 1956 - 2014

GIRARD, Ohio — Joseph Dale Brackbill, 57, passed away on Sept. 29, 2014 while a patient at the Hospice House in Poland, Ohio, following a period of declining health. Born Dec. 10, 1956, in Dodge City, he was the son to Arlo and Beulah (Ray) Brackbill and brother of Ben and Tim Brackbill, Patricia (Brackbill) Schlosser, and Beverly (Brackbill) Benton. While residing in Larned, he was an aide, LMHT, and Registered Nurse at Larned State Hospital. He worked for over 15 years for the State of Nevada as a Registered Nurse in a psychiatric hospital before his retirement.
Survivors include a son David Brackbill, his wife, of Larned, and four children; a daughter DeAnn Brackbill of Larned; his wife, Lorie M. (Satre) Brackbill, whom he married on Aug. 4, 2001; and her children, Aprile Thomas-Ward (Donnie), of Ely, Nev., Kadie Thomas of Austintown, Ohio, Richard W. Thomas (Lulu), of Riverside, Calif., and Brian Thomas (Stephanie), of Las Vegas, Nev.; his father and mother in-law, Lowell and Ellen Satre, of Youngstown, Ohio; seven grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Pete Satre (Maria), and Jody Satre; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Satre-Williams, and Lorna Edwards.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. today at the Liberty Assembly of God Church, led by the Rev. Patrick Mitchell.
