RUSSELL – Larned’s baseball team broke up close games with a 9-run seventh inning and a 5-run seventh inning for a 14-4 and 8-3 sweep of Russell.
LARNED 14, RUSSELL 4 (G1) – Larned’s Carson Shaver, Andres Martinez, Tristan Regan and Brady Hope delivered RBI singles in a 9-run seventh. Three runs scored on wild pitches and one on an error.
Ty Smith drove in three runs. Cade Colglazier also drove in a run. Shaver (4-2) earned the victory with 42/3 innings with two strikeouts.
LARNED 8, RUSSELL 3 (G2) – Larne (13-5) broke a 3-3 tie with a 5-run seventh inning. Ty Smith delivered a 2-run single. Caden Morgan hit a sacrifice fly. Hope scored on a steal. Deacon Martin’s double scored Colglazier.
Hope struck out five batters in a 95-pitch outing.
