Joseph L. Farris, 64, died Feb. 9 at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita. Born May 26, 1949 in Great Bend, he was the son of Albert and Madeline (Salem) Farris. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, he owned and operated ACE Bail Bonding and formerly owned and operated Furniture World.
Mr. Farris was a veteran of the National Guard. He attended the Church of the Nazarene in Stafford and First Assembly of God in Great Bend.
Survivors include one son, Shawn Farris of Florida; two daughters, Stacey Farris and Tianna Farris, both of Great Bend; and four siblings, Melvin Farris of Molono, Fla., Mary Ann Wilson and husband Eugene and Alvin Farris, both of Salina, and William Farris of Great Bend. He was preceded in death by one brother, Milton Farris.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at Bryant Funeral Home with the Rev. Dick Ogle officiating. Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery North. Friends may visit from 5 to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., today at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Madonna Rehabilitation Center, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net
