CHASE — Joyce Marie Scheuerman Espinosa (Matthews), 58, passed away at Ellinwood District Hospital on July 9, 2018.
Born on Oct. 4th, 1959 in Kingman, Kan., she was the daughter of Donald Harry and Mary Louise Matthews (Powell). Joyce was a lifetime area resident living in Great Bend, Ellinwood, and Chase. She worked most recently as a lab technician for Venture Corporation and previously at Sunflower Diversified for 12 years. She also worked at Central Kansas Medical Center and owned a retail store at one time in Great Bend.
Survivors include John Thomas, of the home; son, David Lynn Scheuerman (April), Ellinwood, Kan.; daughter, Cassie Mae Scheuerman, Great Bend, Kan.; sisters, Marcella White, Great Bend, Kan. and Linda Krom (Don), Bonnie Lake, Wash.; two granddaughters, Haley Scheuerman (Brandon Marsh), Hoisington, Kan. and Jackie Scheuerman, Ellinwood, Kan. and great-granddaughter, Kennedy Marie Marsh, Hoisington, Kan.. Other survivors include many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Brenda Matthews.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, July 13, at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood with Father Terrance Klein presiding. Burial will follow at the Lutheran Cemetery in rural Ellinwood. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m., Thursday, July 12, at Minnis Chapel with family present from 6-8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Ellinwood District Hospital, Sunflower Diversified, or Golden Belt Humane Society in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS, 67526.
