Judith “Judi” Anne (Cox) Stewart 1942 - 2021

Judith “Judi” Anne (Cox) Stewart, 79, passed away September 23, 2021, after a two year battle with cancer. She was born on September 17, 1942, in Oklahoma City, to Arthur and Helen (Truitt) Cox. Judi put herself through college, and taught in public schools for 43 years, the bulk of those years in Marion, KS. Children and literacy always had a special place in her heart. 

Judi and her husband Ron were happily married for 38 years and were actively involved in ministry. Judi loved the Lord, and dedicated her life to teaching, missions, and ministry. She had a great compassion for people, loving on and encouraging more than we could count. One of the highlights of her life was traveling to Romania and working in their orphanages, with H2H International, Heart 2 Heart Ministries. 

Judi was creative, demonstrating her gifts as a published author, an artist, gardener and avid seamstress and crafter. Her greatest joys were her beloved grandchildren. 

Judi is survived by her brothers, Lonnie Cox and his wife Bonnie of Oklahoma City, Larry Cox and his wife Vicki of Blanchard, OK, and Mark and his wife Jean of Choctaw, OK; her daughter, Billye Meade and her husband Devin of Moore, OK, her son, Michael Stewart and his wife Gina of Apple Valley, MN, and daughter Shannon Wedel and her husband Darcy of Great Bend; her step daughters, Linda Manister of Edmond, OK, and Diane Worthington and her husband David of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren, Delaney Meade, Nathaniel Meade, Reaghan Stewart, Kellen Stewart, Rhyan Stewart, Ethan Wedel, Evan Wedel, and Emily Wedel; three step grandchildren, Ian Worthington, Jack Manister, and Will Manister; as well as her lifelong friend, confidant and sister in Christ, Charlotte Love of College Station, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ron Stewart; and a daughter, Belinda. 

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Faith Community Church, Great Bend, with Pastor Sandy Kennedy presiding. Inurnment will take place at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Resthaven Cemetery in Oklahoma City. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been designated to H2H International in Judi’s name, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
