Keith Bell 1930 - 2017

BROWNSVILLE, Texas — Keith Edward Bell, 87, died Aug. 8, 2017, at Valley Baptist Hospital, Brownsville, Texas. He was born March 4, 1930, at Oil Hill, the son of Wade and Bernice (Shockley) Bell. He married Sharon Sloan at Great Bend. They were blessed with four children. They later divorced. He then married Pat (Crockett) Ravenstien March 14, 1980, at Cimarron. A long time Great Bend resident prior to retiring and moving to Brownsville, Mr. Bell was president of Bell Engine Service, Inc.
He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bell was a member of American Legion Argonne Post 180, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3111, Elks Lodge #1127, Isis Shrine and was a 32nd Degree Mason.
He touched many lives along life’s journey, including family, friends and strangers. His light will forever shine in the hearts of those who love him.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Bell, of the home; one son, Keith E. “K.B.” Bell II and wife Tammy of Great Bend; two daughters, Rhonda Dobbs and her husband Gary of Spring, Texas, and Marisa Deason and her husband Doug of Tulsa, Okla; two step-sons, Scott Ravenstien and his wife Gabe of Great Bend, and Kelly Ravenstien; 10 grandchildren, Ryan Dobbs and wife Nicole, Collin Dobbs, Chelsea Tansill and husband Terry, Suzanne Montes and husband Mario, Alisha Markley and husband Ryan, Misty Ambrose and husband Stephen, Michael Ravenstien, Casey Dittrick, Zach Dittrick and Justin Ward; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Monica Lynne Reser; one brother, Ralph Bell and his wife Orpha Glea; and one sister, Norma Smith and her husband Gene.
A celebration of life will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at Bryant Funeral Home. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to BCC Foundation - Monica Bell Reser Memorial Scholarship or Sunflower Shrine Travel Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
