Kelly Holden Benker, 24, died Nov. 19 in Barton County. Born April 6, 1988 in Kingman, he was the son of Keith Wayne and Susan Lynn (Bojan) Benker. A resident of Great Bend since 1993, coming from Kingman, he was an electrician.
Kelly loved to play the drums and guitar, fish and hunt. He was a loving, caring father.
Survivors include his mother, Susan Lynn Bojan and companion Kent Robinson of Kingman; a son, August Keith Benker of the home; step-mother, Maribeth Benker of Great Bend; fiancée, Melissa McVey of the home; step-sister, Corry Rowe and husband Ryan of Great Bend; maternal grandparents, Robert and Brenda Steuerwald of Blackhawk, S.D.; step-grandparents, Elmo and Ermalee Merritt of Hutchinson; uncle, Kevin Benker and wife Gina of Great Bend; aunts, Colleen White and Kathy George and husband Gary, both of Hebron, Neb., and Kris Siebenneicher and husband Larry of Deschler, Neb.; niece, Raelynn Rowe; and cousin, Kaden Benker. He was preceded in death by his father, Keith Benker; paternal grandparents, Ken and Connie Benker; and great-grandmother, Alta Moore.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at Bryant Funeral Home with the Rev. Dick Ogle officiating. Friends may sign the register book from noon to 5 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time on Friday at Bryant Funeral Home.
