GREENVILLE, S.C. — Kenneth Duane Brinson, 87, died Sept. 27, 2021, at St. Francis Hospital, Greenville, S.C.. He was born June 24, 1934, in Great Bend, the son of James “Marion” and Ruth B. (Atteberry) Brinson. He served his country as a Specialist 4 with the United States Army from 1956 to 1958.  

Kenneth was a machinist and electrician, working for The Tool Room Inc., Electrontica, and the TV station. 

He is survived by his children: daughter, Joy Richey of Powdersville, S.C; son, James K. Richey and wife Melaine of Rio Rancho, N.M., ; and six grandchildren, Ben Fletcher, Jonathan Vaughn, Coryn, Caitlyn, Carissa, and Cameron Richey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Hope McCurry.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021, at Hoisington Cemetery, Hoisington, with Pastor Tim Patrick officiating.  Military honors will be conducted by the Fort Riley Army Honor Guard.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, at First Baptist Church, Greenville, S.C.
