Loreta Jo “Reta” Brack, 87, passed away June 13, 2022, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was born July 13, 1934, at Earlsboro, Okla., the daughter of Willard and Lorene (Alfrey) Hill. The family moved to Hoisington in 1943. She attended school in Hoisington, graduating in 1952 and attended Business College in Oklahoma.
Reta married Karl L. Brack on Sept. 28, 1958, and they resided in Great Bend. He died Dec. 7, 2014. She worked as a secretary in the oil industry for many years. Reta was a member of First Christian Church and was an active participant in the ladies organizations of the church, American Legion Post #180 Auxiliary, RSVP, Great Bend Food Bank and the Barton County Historical Society. She was an avid golfer and was also a member of Lake Barton Ladies Golf Association. She delivered Meals on Wheels for over 20 years and was awarded Volunteer of the Year in 2012.
Survivors include, two sons, Brad Brack and wife Phyllis of Great Bend and Scott Brack and wife Rhonda of Wichita; five grandchildren, Ashlea Noonan and husband Ryan, Andrea Bauer and husband Rob, Lexie Miller and husband Karl, Zachary Brack and wife Jessica and Taylor Brack; and six great grandchildren, Aubrey Noonan, Ellie Noonan, Claire Noonan, Brock Bauer, Wesley Bauer and Mason Bauer. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Karl Brack.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, June 17, 2022, at Frist Christian Church with Reverend Josh Leu presiding. Interment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials have been designated to Barton County Historical Society or First Christian Church, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
