HOISINGTON — Luella “Lu” Fercking, 78, went to be with her Lord on May 10, 2015, at Hays Medical Center. Born Jan. 3, 1937, in Comanche County, at her Aunt Faye’s farm house, she was the daughter of John and Lillie Cline. In 1954, she graduated from Ness City High School. On June 3, 1954, she married Robert “Ray” Fercking. He went to be with his Lord on Oct. 3, 2001. They moved to Great Bend in 1968. She worked at Data Industries, Volkswagen, and the printing shop for the Great Bend Tribune. She and her husband started Lu’s printing in 1981 and retired in 1997 due to her husband’s health.
Mrs. Fercking was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Great Bend, Breast Cancer Support and Grief Support groups.
She is survived by a son, Ron Fercking and his wife Dorothy of Hoisington; a daughter, Jolinda Sloan, of Hoisington; a brother, John Cline Jr. and wife Arlene of Wakeeney; grandchildren, Chris Fercking, Kim Fercking, Dennis Fercking, Jenny Fercking, Austin Fercking, Stephanie Fercking, Brandon Engleman, Robert Sloan and Kelli Ramirez; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Delvin and infant Michael; parents; a sister, Florence Stiawalt; and three brothers, Jim, Jackie and Jerry Cline.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Fisher presiding. A private family burial will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Ness City. Friends may sign the book Wednesday through Friday at the funeral home.
