PONCA CITY, Okla.— Marcia A (Marcy) Dimond, 78, died June 14, at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. born on November 13, 1936 in Leavenworth, KS the only child of Ann and Walter Gronis.
She attended Leavenworth schools, graduating from Leavenworth Senior High School in 1954. She attended Loretta Heights College in Denver, CO, and earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in education from KSU in June of 1958.
She and John L. “Pete” Dimond were married at Seven Dolors Catholic Church on January 24, 1958 in Manhattan, KS. Three children were born to this union, Ann Michelle, Michael Patrick, and Kathleen Rae.
Marcy loved animals – and had served on the board of the PC Human Society. She also served on the boards of Peachtree Landing and Child Development Center, and was an active volunteer at PCMC and St. Marys Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Pete, and their adored dogs, Penny and Toby; three children – daughters Michelle Ellingson and husband Wayne of Dallas TX; Kathy Kersgieter and husband Greg of Edmond OK; son Mike Dimond and wife Sue also of Edmond, OK; grandchildren are Sarah and John Dimond, Katie, Kelsey, Kiley Kersgieter, and Bryan, Kevin and Nick Ellingson.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday June 18, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, under the direction of Trout Funeral Home.  Rosary service will be June 17 at The Trout Funeral Home Chapel at 7:00 P.M.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ponca City Humane Society, 900 W. Prospect, Ponca City, OK 74601.
