GREAT BEND — Margaret Marie Zecha, 96, passed away June 3, 2022, at Diversicare of Larned. She was born on June 9, 1925, in Hitschmann to William and Clara (Hoffman) Krier. She married Irvin Steve Zecha on April 29, 1947. He died August 22, 1990.
A resident of Great Bend since 1947, coming from Claflin, Margaret was an active owner and operator of Irvin S. Zecha Custom Combining/Irvin S. Zecha and Sons Custom Combining from 1947 to 1990, cooking tirelessly for the crew. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend, Altar Society and Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed gardening, puzzles, volunteering at Riley School, and playing cards with her family and friends. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family.
Survivors include, four sons, Rocky Zecha (Cindy), Kelly Zecha (Rehna) and Kirk Zecha (Jill) all of Great Bend, and Clay Zecha (Kristine) of Maize; a daughter, Brenda Flynn (Don) of Great Bend; a sister, Catherine Seifert of Hunter; and 25 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Irvin Zecha; a son, Ronald Zecha; her brother, Bernard Krier and his wife Marilyn; a granddaughter, Amanda Zecha; and a brother-in-law, Gene Seifert.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday June 8, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Altar Society Rosary at 4 p.m. and Vigil service with Daughters of Isabella Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., June 9, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Great Bend. Memorials have been designated to American Heart Association, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
