ELLINWOOD — Majorie M. Detmer, 83, died Sept. 14 at Ellinwood District Hospital. She was born Aug. 7, 1928 at Willowdale, the daughter of Andrew Peter Ziegler and Katherine Thimesch Ziegler.

She was a 35 year Ellinwood resident, previously of Great Bend, Turon and Willowdale. She was the retired dental assistant for Dan Davis DDS and was a clerk for Grace’s Fabric in Great Bend.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Altar Society of Ellinwood.

She was married to Andrew L. Detmer on Sept. 25, 1951 at Willowdale.

She is survived by her husband, Andrew L. Detmer of the home; daughters, Vicki and Dan Haselhorst of Great Bend, Debbie and Ken Debes of Hays, Linda and Mark Ille of Ellinwood; brothers, Albert Ziegler and Levi Ziegler, both of Kingman; and sister, Joan Boor of Attica; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, Wilfred, John and Leo Ziegler; a sister, Lucille Vierthaler; and a son-in-law, Dennis Axman.

Service will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ellinwood with Father Charles Mazouch officiating. Calling time will be from 1-8 p.m. on Friday at Kimple Funeral Home. Altar Society rosary is at 3 p.m. and the vigil is at 7 p.m. both on Friday at Kimple Funeral Home. Burial will be at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Ellinwood Area Health Care Foundation and St. Joseph School Living Legacy Fund.
