Marlene Kay White   1947-2013
Marlene Kay White, 65, passed away June 6, 2013 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.  She was born Oct. 14, 1947 at Stafford, the daughter of Willie Robert and Sarah Esther (Griffin) Hathaway.  Marlene worked for Rosewood Services and 36 years at Great Bend Health & Rehab Center, both in Great Bend.  
She married Ed White on Nov. 11, 1977 at Great Bend. He survives of the home.  Other survivors include  daughters, Vicki Bunn, Ellinwood, Brenda Goodwin, Hutchinson and Jami Weathers, Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jessica, Carmen, Antonio, Casey, Miranda, Shelby, Trey, Spencer, Heather, William and Eugene; great grandchildren, Zadamarie, Landon, Reese and Kai; sisters, Marilyn Appelhans, Valley Center, Joyce Abshire, Boyce, La., Judy Shelton and Linda Sizemore-Frans, St. John; brothers, Jerry Hathaway, St. John and Jim Hathaway, Colorado Springs, Colo.  Preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Joan Pruett and a daughter, Sharon Kay Laird.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday, June 10 at Minnis Chapel, St. John, with Pastor Tom Harrison presiding.  Burial will follow in the Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John.  Visitation will be Sunday from 1-7 p.m. at the Chapel.  Memorials may be given to the Am. Heart Assoc. or the Am. Diabetes Assoc., both in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, Ks  67576.
