Marvel Nanny Wooley 1931 - 2015

CHASE — Marvel “Nanny” Wooley, 83, died Aug. 4, 2015, at Wesley Towers in Hutchinson. Born Dec. 10, 1931, in Beaver County, Okla., she was the daughter of William L. and Edna B. Haskell Young. In 1949, she graduated from Ashland High School. On Jan. 22, 1954, she married Vincent “Benny” Wooley in Sterling. He died on July 16, 1998. A resident of Chase since 1952, formerly of Ashland, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Micheal and Christy Wooley, of Ulysses; three daughters, Monta and  Danny Wolf, of Great Bend, Sharon “Katie” and Rick Harrington, of Hutchinson, and Karen and Danny Starr, of Chase; 12 grandchildren;  and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter-in-law, Keri Wooley
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Birzer Funeral Home in Lyons with the Rev. Jerimy Wooley officiating. Burial will be at the Chase Springdale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Birzer Funeral Home in Lyons. Memorials are suggested to the Reno/Rice County Hospice in care of the funeral home.
