Marvin Lee (Sonny) French 1923 - 2013

EUREKA — Marvin Lee (Sonny) French, 89, died on March 14th. Born on Nov. 7, 1923, in Hamilton, he was the son of Theodore and Theresa (Groom) French.  
Marvin served in the United States Army Air Force from 1942 to 1945 as a member of the Jolly Rogers 90th Bomb Group “H”.   
Survivors include five children Joseph, Leslie, Patrick, Jeff and Jon; two brothers Willard and Ted French; two sisters Dorothy Uhl and Harriett Shumard; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; wife of 65 years, Marie; brothers Lyle and Herbert “Bud”; and sisters Helen Keller, Margaret Love and Eva Jean Boswell.   
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Koup Family Funeral Home, 121 N. Oak St.. Eureka. Inurnment will be at the Janesville Cemetery at Hamilton. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
