LARNED — Mary Lou Rex, 81, passed away Friday May 13, 2022, at here home in Larned, Kan.
She was born Dec. 2, 1940, in Naples, New York, the daughter of Kenneth and Genevieve Hennessey Hall.
Moving from Naples, New York, she was an area resident since 2002. She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed playing Mahjong, painting watercolor pictures and colored pencil drawings, especially for her grandchildren. She loved animals and was a former volunteer at Pawnee County Humane Society. She enjoyed music, gardening, and taking pictures of her family. She was a real kid person and her grandchildren adored her. She was a loving mother and grandmother whose kindness and joy of family was shared by all.
On April 4, 1959 she married Charles Rex at Naples, New York; he preceded her in death in 2001. She never stopped missing his companionship.
Survivors include two daughters, Bethany (Dennis) Smith, Larned; Sandra (Robert) Gates, Dansville, New York; one son Carl (Colleen) Rex, Shawnee, Kan.; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Emmons, Aaron Scott, Tracy (Nick) Daniels, Dillon (Jessica Monro) Gates, MacKenzie (Ryan) Shigley, Cameron (Summer) Rex, Keaton Rex, Bryce Rex and Jacob Smith; eight great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Inurnment will be in Naples, New York. Memorials may be given to Pawnee County Humane Society in care of Beckwith Mortuary, PO Box 477, Larned, Kansas 67550. Condolences may be left www.beckwithmortuary.com.
