Mayme Ruth DuBois

OBERLIN – Mayme Ruth DuBois was born Dec. 26, 1930 in Stanton County, Kan. to James and Leah (Keesling) Lofland. She passed away at the age of 93 on Jan. 24, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Society of Decatur County.

Mayme started her life in Stanton County before moving to Great Bend and graduated from Great Bend High School in 1948. She married Don A. DuBois on Dec. 30, 1949 in Great Bend. Mayme spent most of her career at Dodge City Humara Hospital in Dodge City, Kan. as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Mayme spent several years working as an EMT in the ambulance that her husband Don drove. 

Mayme was preceded in death by her parents, James and Leah Lofland; husband, Don DuBois; siblings, James Lofland, Mary Alice Biskeborn, Arthur Lofland, Pauline Crowley, Letha Luther, and Elsie Hiss; sons, Dan and David DuBois; great-granddaughter, Danielle DuBois. Mayme is survived by her sister: Darlene Unruh, Cypress, TX; daughter: Diana Sue Fillpot of Roanoke, Va.; daughter-in-law: Ut T. Tran of Wichita, KS; daughter-in-law Tami DuBois of Hill City, KS; grandchildren: Darla Myhre of Roanoke, Va., Dale (Kat) Fillpot of Roanoke, Va., Tahnee Webster of Wichita, Kan., Wesley (Ann) DuBois of Norton, Kan., Whitney (Jay)  Nickelson of Penokee, Kan., Clayton (Ashley) DuBois of Norton, Kan.; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024 at the Jennings United Methodist Church, Jennings. Inurnment will follow in the Jennings Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Society of Decatur County.  Condolences can be left atwww.plumergobber.com.
