Michael Wayne Kirkman, 62, died June 7 at his home in Midwest City, Okla. Born Nov. 6, 1950 in Great Bend, he was the son of Wayne and Carolyn (Nowles) Kirkman. On Aug. 12, 1972, he married Gail Broadbooks in Great Bend. They later divorced. A longtime resident of Great Bend and Pratt, residing in Midwest City, Okla. for three years, he was an oilfield salesman for W.L. Kirkman, Inc., until his retirement.
Survivors include three daughters, Heather McFann of Rozel, Jennifer Kirkman of Houston, Texas, and Leslie Kirkman of Wichita; one sister, Kathy Herman of Great Bend; four grandchildren, Alexis Kent, Hunter McFann, Blake Kirkman, and Bryli Brown; and his dog, Radar.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Bryant Funeral Home with the Rev. William F. Johnson officiating. Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Michael Wayne Kirkman Funeral Expense Fund, in care of the funeral home.
