Moe Mae Hemken, 69, passed away on Jan. 8, 2023, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kan. She was born on June 15, 1953, to Clyde Jr. and Twila (Snodgrass) Lang. On May 1, 2012, she married Robert “Bob” Hemken at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hoisington, Kan. He survives.
A long-time resident of Great Bend, Moe worked as a store manager for Dillons. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, and enjoyed cross stitch projects and quilting, attending many quilting groups through the years in town and at Peace Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a son, Eric (Jennifer) Strecker of Towanda, Kan.; two grandchildren, Jackson and Kennedy Strecker; and two brothers, Gerald (Wanda) Lang and Lonnie Lang, all of WaKeeney, Kan. She is preceded is death by her parents.
Visitation will take place from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home, with the family receiving guests from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, at Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery with Pastor Wayne Baldyga presiding.
