Nancy L. Adams 1935 - 2014

Nancy L. Adams, 78, longtime Great Bend resident, passed away on Tuesday morning, Jan.  14, at Great Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born Oct. 8, 1935, in Great Bend, she was the daughter of Charles M. and Mildred I. (Hungerford) Darr. In 1953, she graduated from Great Bend High School and later attended Barton County Community College. A homemaker, Nancy loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Adams was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Great Bend, where she also served as Deacon in past years.
Survivors include three daughters, Debra Lynn (Roach) Allgire, Great Bend; Sandra Leigh (Roach) and her husband Reggie Smith, Detroit, Mich.; and Tamara Luann (Adams) and her husband Roy Whetstone, Wichita; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul L. Darr, Largo, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, William “Bill” Roach and Billy LaDon Lee Adams; a sister, Nina Lynn Darr Scannell; and two brothers, Charles Leon Darr and Ned L. Darr.
It was Nancy’s wishes that she be cremated following her death. There will be no viewing or services.
