KATY, Texas — Pamela (Asher) Schneweis Hunter, 60, died Jan. 11 at her home in Katy, Texas. Born Feb. 20, 1952, in Great Bend, she was the daughter of Herbert William “Bill” and Ann (Hahn) Asher. On June 3, 1972, she married Pat Schneweis in Great Bend. They later divorced. She then married David Hunter on May 28, 1994, in Great Bend. She was a longtime resident of Great Bend and Houston, Texas.
Survivors include her husband, Dave Hunter, of the home; mother, Ann Asher of Great Bend; two sons, Adam Schneweis of Manhattan and Blake Schneweis and his wife Lacy of Wichita; one daughter, Lisa Bryant and her husband Damon of Manhattan; two stepsons, Dave Hunter of Japan and Lee Hunter of Katy, Texas; one brother, Tim Asher of Great Bend; and four grandchildren, Colton Bryant, Cassidy Bryant, Raylin Schneweis and Kiley Schneweis. She was preceded in death by her father; one daughter, Amy Schneweis; and her grandparents, Herman and Marguerite (England) Hahn, and Ernest and Katherine (Way) Asher.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Great Bend with the Rev. Loren W. Hickerson officiating. Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m., on Friday at Bryant Funeral Home.
