PRATT — Phyllis Marie Helsel, 76, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at Hilltop Manor in Cunningham. She was born Nov. 29, 1940, in Haven to Alvin John and Darlene Eloise (Abbott) Oldenettel. On March 20, 1959, she married William Richard “Dick” Helsel at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Pratt. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2004.
Phyllis moved to Pratt from Haven when she was young. She graduated from Pratt High School in 1958. She grew up in the Lutheran Church. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church where she was also part of Promise Seekers Sunday School Class. She was a member of The Red Hat Club.

Phyllis is survived by her three daughters, Gina Helsel of Great Bend, Kathy (William) Wallace of Augusta and Amy (Jeff) Slade of Haviland; daughter in-law, Stephanie Helsel of Ponca City, Oklahoma; two sisters, Delores (Lawrence) Raleigh of Sacramento, California and Joyce (Duane) Whitfield of Nevada, Missouri; and nine grandchildren, Katie, Macy and Anna Wallace, Cale and Ethan Helsel and Wyatt, Buck, Justin and Tucker Slade. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; Son, John Helsel; and her parents.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Larrison Mortuary in Pratt with Walt Rosenbaum presiding. Burial will follow at Iuka Cemetery, Iuka.
