GREAT BEND — Rhoda Sue DeVorss, 75, died July 16, 2015, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita.
Born April 4, 1940, at Rocky Ford, Colo., she was the daughter of Everett and Josie Ewers. On May 10, 1957, she married Robert Lee DeVorss in Raton, N.M. He died on Oct. 14, 1999. A resident of Great Bend, coming from Yoder, Colo. in 2000, she was a cook for Fowler Nursing Home.
Mrs. DeVorss was a member of Faith Community Church in Great Bend.
Survivors include two sons, Ron DeVorss and his wife Debra, Great Bend; and Russell DeVorss and his wife Trish, Bushton; two daughters, Darlene Winters and her husband Mike, Brush, Colo.; and Rhonda “Sherry” Weeks and her husband Bill, Rozel; a sister, Katie Hopkins, Miami, Okla.; a brother, Tom Ewers, Strattford, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Ewers; and sisters, Peg Penrod, Bettie Jo Perry, and Edith McMillan.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. MDT Tuesday at the Fowler Cemetery, in Fowler, Colo. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday at Bryant Funeral Home.
