Robert H. Petersen 1943 - 2014


ALBERT — Robert H. Petersen, 70, died Jan. 21, 2014 at Great Bend Regional Hospital.
Born Sept. 1, 1943 in Great Bend, he was the son of Edward and Alvina (Harms) Petersen. On June 8, 1973 he married Connie Dolechek in Albert. A lifetime resident of Albert, he was a farmer and also worked in the oilfield.
Mr. Petersen served in the National Guard. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Albert, where he previously served on the council and also served on the property committee and taught Sunday School.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Petersen, of the home; two sons, Tim Alderdice, Peachtree City, Ga., and Todd Alderdice and his wife Maggie, Hoisington; two daughters, Tracey Swalley, Great Bend, and Tammy Ficken and her husband Lance, Bison; a sister, Ruth Schmidt and her husband Jarold, Larned; nine grandchildren, Addison Alderdice, Ayla Alderdice, Kendra Alderdice, Mason Alderdice, J. J. Swalley, Janessa Swalley, Kaylee Ficken, Caitlin Ficken, and Talon Ficken.
He was preceded in death by one infant son, Greg; and one sister, Carol Wright.
A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Peace Lutheran Church, south of Albert with Pastor Patricia Reep officiating. Burial will be at the Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery in Albert. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Peace Lutheran Church or Albert Volunteer Fire Department, in care of the funeral home.
