Robert P. “Bob” Maneth, 87, died April 10 at Kansas Medical Center, Andover.  Born Jan. 1, 1928 at Great Bend, he was the son of Ferdinand W. “Fred” and Kathryn Gertrude (Pivonka) Maneth.
He married Dorothy A. Schneweis Jan. 9, 1950 at Beaver.  Bob was a farmer and stockman in Barton County until 1971 when they moved to Liberal.  He was an insurance adjuster for Crawford and Company until his retirement in 1992.  While in Liberal, he was instrumental in the building of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where he served as a lector, communion minister, usher and served on the Parish Council.  In 2007 he and Dorothy moved to Great Bend where he was an active member of Prince of Peace Parish, was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, and also a member of the Elks Lodge #1127, all of Great Bend.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy A. Maneth, of the home; three sons: Marion Maneth and wife MJ of Cabot, Ariz.;Bob Maneth of Friendswood, Texas; and Mike Maneth and wife Tami of Las Vegas, Nev.; three daughters: Karen Loving and husband Marty of Pawnee Rock; Connie Rosel and husband George of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; and Pam Spaulding and husband Greg of Manhattan; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Fred Maneth  and Maurice Maneth ; two sisters, Dolores Maneth and Alice Marie Maneth.
Vigil service with Knights of Columbus rosary will be at 7 p.m., Monday, April 13 at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 14 at Prince of Peace Parish St. Rose, Great Bend, with Father Ted Stoecklein celebrating.  Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery North. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, April 12 at Bryant Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Prince of Peace Parish or Prince of Peace Adoration Chapel or Divine Mercy Radio KVDM, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.  Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net
