HOISINGTON — Roland “Rush” Blaz, 82, died Jan. 9, 2022, at Medicalodges, Great Bend, Kan. He was born July 23, 1939, in San Mateo, Calif. He served in the United States Army as a SP5. 

Rush received his Bachelor of Science in organic chemistry. He worked for the BASF and other companies as a chemist and salesman of industrial chemicals.

On July 2, 1984, he married Ruby Steinkuehler in Great Bend, Kan. She preceded him in death on Dec. 8, 2012. He was also preceded in death by parents Berk and Elaine (Tindall) Blaz. He is survived by two sons, David and Christopher.  

A graveside inurnment service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, at Hoisington Cemetery, with Pastor Don Fisher presiding.
