Rose Ann (Werth) Sipes 1937 - 2012

ELLIS — Rose Ann (Werth) Sipes, 75, passed away Nov. 27 at the Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. Born May 3, 1937 in rural Schoenchen, she was the daughter of August and Dorothy (Werth) Werth. In 1955 she graduated from Schoenchen High School. She was employed by Adronics of Hays as an assembly line worker. She was a loving and devoted grandmother. She enjoyed spending time at the farm especially during calving season.
Ms. Sipes was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellis.
Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Gunther and husband Paul of Sachse, Texas; a brother, Gus Werth of Schoenchen; a sister, Freda Fisher of Ellis; four grandchildren, Augustus Kortemeier, and Annie, Averie and Aubrie Gunther, all of Sachse, Texas; and her companion, Gene Mater of Olmitz. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael Sipes; a daughter, Deborah Schneider; a granddaughter, Alicia Schneider; a brother, Fred Werth; and two sisters, Gladys Braun and Alice Werth.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Schoenchen. Burial will be at St. Anthony Cemetery in Schoenchen. Visitation will be from 9-9:30 a.m. Friday  at Brock’s North Hill Chapel in Hays. Memorials are suggested to St. Anthony Cemetery Fund or St. Anthony Church Fund.
