Ryan Robert Fanshier, 36, died June 24, 2015, at Great Bend Regional Hospital. He was born June 17, 1979, at Great Bend, the son of Randall and Angela (Sharpe) Fanshier.
He married Kristin Stabenow July 28, 2007, at Kansas City.
Ryan grew up in Great Bend, graduating from Great Bend High School in 1998 and Kansas State University in 2003. For 10 years he was plant manager for Cargill and returned home last year, to become owner and operator Central Plains Seed Service, Great Bend.
Ryan was a loving husband, and a wonderful father, son, and brother; had an infectious smile, and loved to have fun and play with his children.
Survivors include his wife, Kristin Fanshier, of the home; parents, Randy and Angie Fanshier, Great Bend; one son, Cole Fanshier of the home; one daughter, Emma Fanshier of the home; two brothers, Matt Fanshier and his wife Julie of Kansas City, and Luke Fanshier and fiancée Brittany Grattan of Wichita; one niece, Hadley; and one nephew, Cooper; paternal grandmother, Frances Fanshier of Great Bend; and maternal grandmother, Dorothy Sharpe of Clyde.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 29, at First United Methodist Church in Great Bend, with the Rev. Lennie Maxwell officiating. Burial will be at Eden Valley Cemetery, Seward. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, at Bryant Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Children’s Education Fund, in care of the funeral home.
