ST. JOHN — Sharon K. Crissman, 83, of St. John, Kan. passed away peacefully Dec. 20, 2022 at Stafford County Hospital, Stafford, Kan. She was born on Sept. 19, 1939 in Great Bend, Kan., the daughter of Even B. (Boots) Estes and Bertha M. Rose.  

She was a housewife, mother and grandmother and worked briefly for the ASCS office in St. John. As a child due to her hearing loss she attended the Institute of Logopedics now known as Heartspring in Wichita, Kan. where she learned to lip read and speak clearly. She graduated from Macksville High School in 1960 and attended Wichita Business College. She was a member of the Macksville Christian Church. Order of the Eastern Star (50 yr. pin), and the Busy Mother’s Club.  On Sept. 24, 1961 she married Samuel F. Crissman Jr. at Macksville, Kan., he passed away Sept. 26, 2022.  

Survivors include two sons, Kirby W. (Leah) Crissman, St. John, Kenton E. (Rhonda) Crissman, Troutman, N.C.; one daughter, Kristene K. (Brian) Brown, St. John, Kan.; a daughter-in-law, Marcia Crissman, St. John, Kan.; a brother, Owen B. Estes (Inge), Manhattan, Kan.; seven grandchildren, Kayla Crissman, Kinser Crissman, Schuyler Brown, Katrena Brown, Kourtney (Tristan) Smith, Kerisa Brown and Erin Crissman. She was preceded in death by her husband Sam and two sons, Kerry B. Crissman and Kelly F. Crissman. 

Visitation will be on Monday, Dec. 26, 2022 from 1-7 p.m. at Minnis Chapel, St. John. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022 at Minnis Chapel, St. John, with Pastor Wade Russell presiding. Burial will follow in the Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John. Memorials may be given to the Stafford County Hospital, Heartspring, Wichita, Kan. (formerly Institute of Logopedics) or Stocking Stuffers of Central Kansas all in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O.
