PAWNEE ROCK — Shirley L. Arnel, 70, of Pawnee Rock, died Oct. 13 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. She was born Shirley L. Gabbert on Nov. 6, 1939, in Waco, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2001. Survivors include four children, Otis Arnel of Pawnee Rock, Loyce Finnigan and Carol Irving, both of Great Bend, and David Arnel of Junction City; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Assembly of God Church, 601 South Patton Road, Great Bend. Honoring Shirley’s request, her body has been donated to the University of Kansas Medical Center.
