OLMITZ — Tanner Joseph Hlavaty, 7, died Jan. 29 at his home in Olmitz. Born May 8, 2003, in Great Bend, he was the son of Kevin L. and Cambria A. (Bahr) Hlavaty. A lifetime resident of Olmitz, he was a second-grade student at Otis-Bison Elementary School.

Tanner was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Olmitz.

Survivors include his parents, Kevin and Camie Hlavaty of Olmitz; a sister, Jenna R. Hlavaty of Olmitz; paternal grandparents, Joe and Justina Hlavaty of Olmitz; maternal grandparent, Cherie Bahr of Great Bend; and great-grandmother, Thelia Brack of Great Bend. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ronald Bahr.

Vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Ann Catholic Church in Olmitz. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the church, with Father Ultan Murphy officiating. Burial will be at the St. Ann Cemetery in Olmitz. Friends may visit from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend.
