Terri Marie Chartier, 68, passed away Sept. 13, 2024, surrounded by loved ones at her home in Great Bend, Kan. She was born on April 17, 1956, in Great Bend, to Clarence E. and Grace (Alexander) Horyna. On July 19, 1975, she married David Chartier in Great Bend, Kan.
Living in Great Bend the majority of her life, Terri was a homemaker. She received her associate degree in Graphic Design from Barton Community College and was awarded the Most Outstanding Student Award during that time. Terri was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and Altar Society. She loved nature and had a heart for animals. Terri would feed the neighborhood birds and squirrels but especially loved her four cats and beloved dog.
Survivors include her husband of the home; son, Adam Chartier of Great Bend; daughter, Angela Krier and husband Chad of Wichita; four grandchildren, Ashley, Alyson, Katie, Kyrsa; six great grandchildren with another on the way; six sisters, Barbara Malone, Sherri Kober, Audrey Henaghan, Jan Johnson-Blevins, Denise Pina, and Debra Pratt. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Clarence R. Horyna.
Visitation will take place from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024, with family receiving guests from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and vigil at 7 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Father Prakash Kola presiding. Interment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery North. Memorials have been designated to the Terri Chartier Expense Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
