Theresa C. Sohm-Schmeidler , 89, passed away November 30, 2020, at Riverbend Assisted Living, Great Bend. She was born April 10, 1931, at Great Bend, to John & Mildred (Konecny) Axman. She married Leon Sohm November 9, 1954, in Great Bend. He died December 12, 1983. She then married Alfred Schmeidler August 20, 1988, in Great Bend. He died September 6, 2014.
Coming from Olmitz in 1988, Theresa was a Great Bend resident. She was a homemaker who loved baking, farming, and working at Country Treasures. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Altar Society, and helped with the election board during voting season.
Survivors include, two daughters, Terri Schneider and husband Jay of Great Bend, and Laurie Koci and husband Don of Colwich; other survivors include, a stepson, Jim Schmeidler; and four stepdaughters, Judy Boor and husband Johnnie of Great Bend; Jane Lehning and husband Steve of Sublette, Jean Naccarato and husband Dan of Hutchinson, and Joan Day and husband Mike of Pratt; sixteen grandchildren, Tera, Derik, Sarah, Ryan, Jodie, Jamie, Jeff, Andrea, Matthew, Shalee, Luke, Kylee, Amanda, Shanda, Dallas, and Marcus; and twenty three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Richard Axman, John Axman, and Alvie Axman; and a sister, Josephine Wagner.
Visitation will be held from Noon to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Bryant Funeral Home, with Altar Society Rosary at 4:00 p.m., and Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 4, 2020, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend, with Father Don Bedore presiding. Masks and social distancing will be required at the funeral home and church.
Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Olmitz. Memorials have been designated to Prince of Peace Parish, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
