Thomas Joseph Karlin 1994-2011

LENEXA — Tom Karlin, 17, of Lenexa, our loving son and brother, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011. 
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 8 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 9150 Pflumm, Lenexa.  
Tom’s life was celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, November 9 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lenexa.
Tom was born on May 2, 1994 to Joe and Amy (McClure) Karlin in Merriam.  He was a senior at Shawnee Mission West High School.
Tom was active in the National Honor Society, Business Professionals Association, Freshmen Mentor program, On-the-job training, tennis, cross country, Bowling and football. He was on the Principal’s Honor Roll, a scholar-athlete, and received academic letters. Tom enjoyed music, summer days at the lake, and relaxing at home.
Tom was preceded in death by his grandfather, Leroy Karlin.  He leaves behind his loving family, parents Joe and Amy Karlin and siblings Anna, Ben and Mary Beth, all of the home. 
Other survivors include his grandparents, Gary and Paulette McClure of Kansas City, Mo.; and Arlene Karlin, Great Bend, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Tom, you may be gone from this world, but you’ll always be in our hearts and in our soul.  Your quiet, caring presence brought warmth and peace to those around you.  You were a part of so many lives, and we all will miss you.
