GARDEN CITY — Troy Eugene Piland, age 74, died on Monday, Sept. 9, 2019 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kan. He was born on Nov. 4, 1944 in Dartmouth, Kan., the son of Margie Davis. He worked as a mechanic and cofounder at Piland Auto in Garden City.
Survivors include three children, Darrell Piland of Garden City, Kan., Scotty and Tammy Piland of Ellinwood, Kan., Terry Piland of Garden City, Kan.; three stepchildren, Andy Newsome of Garden City, Kan., Choiseul Orbaugh of Garden City, Kan., Katie Brown of Garden City, Kan.; one brother, Kenneth “Kenny” Piland of Pahrump, Nevada; dear friend, Dena Crouch of Garden City, Kan.; three grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parent; five siblings, infant brother, Basil Piland, Claudia Biles, Wanda Conway, and Gary Piland.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at the Price and Sons Funeral Home. Open calling hours will be from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2019, at the funeral home.
