Victor A. Scott 1955-2013

STERLING — Victor A. Scott, 57, died June 30 at Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. Born October 28, 1955 in Hoxie, he was the son of LeRoy Winfield and Mary Mildred (Irwin) Scott. He was a former resident of Hill City, and was self employed.  
Survivors include his significant companion, Jan Hilgers of Sterling, and two sons, Jay Scott, Olmitz, and Aaron Scott, Sioux City, Iowa.   He is also survived by nine brothers: Mike Scott, Hoxie; Bill Scott, Rexford; John Paul Scott, Hoxie; Steve Scott, Grand Canyon, Ariz.; C.R. Scott, Martha, Okla.; Bob Scott, Collyer; Pete Scott, Hill City; Art Scott, Hoxie; Ty Scott, Cripple Creek, Colo.;  four sisters: Joan Scott, Edmond, Okla.; Mary Ann Volmert, St. Louis, Mo.; Diana Scott, San Diego, Calif.; Carolyn Scott, Hoxie; and five grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Joseph Daniel Scott, and one sister, Dixie Lee Schere.
Funeral service will be Saturday, July 6 at 11 a.m. at Stinemetz Funeral Home, 522 North Pomeroy, Hill City, with Rev. Judith Stricker officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 5 at Stinemetz Funeral Home, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. to receive friends. Burial will occur at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 6 at Lucerne Cemetery in rural Sheridan County.  Memorials are suggested to the Victor Scott Memorial fund.
