Virginia Lou Rowan, 63, of Great Bend, Kan., earned her heavenly wings May 16, 2019, at Hospice House of Reno County, Hutchinson, Kan. The daughter of George and Faye Morrison, she was born in Great Bend, Kan. on March 18, 1956. She was a dedicated partner, mother, sister and friend to so many.

She was fascinated by nature and would spend time at the parks observing and admiring the birds. An avid race fan she enjoyed going to the drag races and loved riding along with her partner, Donnie. There was not a single type of music that she did not enjoy and would listen to it constantly as she prepared meals for her greatest gift of all – her family.

Survivors include her partner, Donnie R. Woods of Great Bend, Kan.; one son, Tony (Isabel) Rocha III of Hutchinson, Kan.; one daughter, Brittany Pickering of Salina, Kan.; six brothers, George Morrison Jr. and Gary Morrison, both of Great Bend, Kan., Dennis (Josie) of Sand Springs, Okla., Willie Woods Jr., Michael Woods, and Bobby Woods all of Mansfield, La.; four sisters, Joyce (Blue) Windham of Sand Springs, Okla., Ruby Woods and Catherine Diane Woods of Mansfield, La., and, Mary McGinnis of Russell, Kan.; her caregiver, Erica Bittle; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Craig “Bud” Morrison; and two sisters, Mary Jane Ferguson and Cora Sue Murphy.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 3 p.m. at the First Street Church of God, 601 E. First Street in Hoisington, Kan.
